Dutch Fort Kota Belanda, Pangkor Island - Malaysia Travel Influencer

Dutch Fort  known as Kota Belanda is a fort located in Pangkor Island, it was built by the Dutch in the year 1670. The fort was constructed to control the tin market and hide from the local sultanate of Perak. Today the fort has become popular among tourists that visit Pulau Pangkor (Pangkor Island). The fort ruins still visible, you may visit the big garden and see the remaining ruined walls.  There are also available some souvenirs stalls in the garden, where you can purchase any goodies or souvenirs. After the initial Malaysia lockdown period from Mar 18, 2020 – Jun 9, 2020, we are back to lockdown starting from tonight midnight 12:00. (Friday, 11 September 2020). 14-day lockdown, following an increase in Covid-19 cases.

The lock down applies to 3 places in Malaysia:

  • Kota Setar, Kedah
  • Aman Jaya, Sungai Petani (Kedah) lockdown extended for 3 more days
  • Tawau, Sabah 

The announcement of the lockdown was made at 2 o`clock today. Most of the residents, caught  with the kitchen empty, as mostly left the errands for the weekend. Tomorrow here is the weekend (Friday and Saturday). Major groceries hyper store are full with people. Let`s hope for the best and do our best to stay at homes.
