Today in Malaysia we observe a public holiday in conjunction of the Islamic New Year 1442H|2020.

Each passing year is a year that will get us closer to our death.

Each passing year is a continuous cycle of reflecting, planning and executing.

We should reflect on where we are now and where we plan to be.

Plan according the activities that help us meet our goals.

Reflect on what we achieved and think how we need to improve.

The new year passing in the western countries, people usually tend to over react by celebrating, organising party for the year that has passed and a new year coming.

As a Muslim, we need to know the areas we need to develop in order to improve our Akhirah and spend our time beneficially.

Celebrating a passing year that we had not achieved much is a nonsense.

"See they not that they are put in trial once or twice every year (with different kinds of calamities, disease, famine)? Yet, they turn not in repentance, nor do they learn a lesson (from it)." (At-Tawbah 9:126).

Happy New Islamic Year
Salam Maal Hijrah 1442 H|2020
