Eid Mubarak 2020

Today, in Malaysia, Muslims are celebrating the Eid, which marks the end of the Ramadan month. The day that starts the meeting of relatives from far and family members, old friends and colleagues.

However, due to the new norm set for Covid 19 crisis, that has affected Malaysia as well, the celebration of Eid is done with limitations.

Today, we are free to travel to visit our families living near us. Intrastate travel is allowed today for Eid celebration. Everyone should adhere to the new norms such as the use of face cover,  maintain a distance of 1 meter from each other, wash hands often. No shaking hands, no kissing, no touching, no close conversation allowed. Preferably to take care of our elders and children as they seem more vulnerable to the Covid 19.

All interstate travel are forbidden, unless you have reasons and it is a must trip.
Today, we visited my father and mother in law, which is around 5 km away.  From my observation, small visits may be safe. However, if you have children and you intend to stay longer hours during your visits, that may be risky, as children are hard to maintain and cope with the face masks norms and they are forgetful when playing outdoors. I hope the school will not open to soon, if the Covid 19 crisis still on and off, as the case my arise.

Today on the Eid day, we choose to wear just casual clothes, instead of the traditional clothes, just to remind us that this Eid celebration comes with limits, and need to adhere to them and also a good memory for us in the future.
